Schumacher | Pollen Cut Velvet

Pollen Cut Velvet is an abstract floral by Neisha Crosland that takes its cues from botanical forms, marbled endpapers and the zigzag of bargello needlework. The design has a scalloped, almost cellular quality, the cut pile catching light against the flat ground so the pattern seems to shift and breathe. It is small in scale, which gives it versatility across different pieces without dominating.

Woven in India from viscose and cotton, it is 140 centimetres wide with a 15-centimetre vertical repeat and a 5-centimetre horizontal. Dry cleaning is recommended. The combination of raised pile and texture makes it well suited to upholstery—sofas, chairs, ottomans—and cushions, where the tactile quality can be felt as well as seen. It is also available as a wallpaper.
