Schumacher | Poppy Hand Block Print

Poppy Hand Block Print takes its motif from the Mughal poppy, a recurring emblem in Indian decorative tradition. Designer Molly Mahon has reinterpreted the design in linen, each length printed by hand so that small shifts in registration and ink density give the pattern an artisan character that machine printing cannot replicate. The scale is medium, with a vertical repeat of 33 centimetres and a horizontal of just under 23.

Made in India from pure linen, the cloth is 137 centimetres wide and part of Molly Mahon's Hand Block Prints II collection. It suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery, and dry cleaning is recommended. The design is available in a choice of colourways, each pairing two colours in the traditional block-print manner.
