Schumacher | Primrose Hand Block

Primrose Hand Block is a linen printed by hand with wooden blocks in India, the pattern depicting the delicate flower in grass and sky tones. The technique leaves subtle variations in registration and ink density, so no two lengths are identical. The 35-centimetre vertical repeat and 17.8-centimetre horizontal allow the motif to breathe without becoming sparse.

Made in India from 100 per cent linen, the cloth is 137 centimetres wide. Dry cleaning is recommended. It suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery, the hand-blocked process and botanical subject lending a quiet, pastoral character to interiors where pattern is wanted without insistence.
