Schumacher | Riley Embroidery

Riley Embroidery is a modern vermicelli pattern—loose, meandering lines embroidered in fine thread onto a linen ground—with something of the energy of Keith Haring's drawing. The motif is abstract and continuous, and the embroidery gives it a slight relief so the pattern reads through texture as well as line. The repeat is generous enough to avoid a cramped, all-over feel.

Made in India from 90% linen and 10% viscose, the fabric is 132 centimetres wide with a vertical repeat of 77 centimetres and a horizontal repeat of 65 centimetres. Dry cleaning is recommended. It suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery, and the embroidered surface adds weight and interest to the linen base. The design is available in several colourways.
