Samira is woven from bouclé yarns with a fil coupé fringe that has been brushed to increase its volume, so the cloth has both textural interest and a three-dimensional quality. The pattern works at a large scale—a 46-centimetre vertical repeat and 33-centimetre horizontal—and the fringe gives the design a soft, almost furry edge, so it reads as substantial and tactile.
It is woven in Italy from a blend of cotton, viscose, polyester, polycotton and linen, 137 centimetres wide. Dry cleaning is recommended. The cloth suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery, and the large-scale repeat and textured surface make it particularly effective on furniture and cushions where the detail can be appreciated at close range.
