Samsun Embroidery scatters free-floating motifs across a linen ground, each one worked by hand in a variety of stitches—French knots, bouclé, chain and satin—so the surface has both rhythm and texture. The embroidered marks float without obvious repeat or symmetry, giving the cloth an improvisational, almost mystical character, and the openness of the casement weave allows light to pass through.

Made in India, it is woven from eighty-five per cent linen with polyester and acrylic, 137 centimetres wide, with a vertical repeat of 76 centimetres and a horizontal repeat of 135 centimetres. Dry cleaning is recommended. It suits curtains and blinds where the embroidery can be backlit, as well as upholstery and cushions.
