Schumacher | Sapphire

Sapphire is a wall covering composed entirely of natural feathers, each one gathered and applied by hand to build up a dense, allover surface. The feathers catch the light with an iridescent sheen, shifting through a palette of deep blues as the eye moves across the wall.

Made in Taiwan, each panel is 99 centimetres wide and just over three metres in length. It is sold by the panel and should be vacuumed gently with a soft brush. The feather construction gives the surface a pronounced texture and depth that reads differently depending on the angle of view.
