Schumacher | Shijin Silk

Shijin Silk is a woven wallcovering with the fine, irregular grain of raw silk, its surface shifting quietly with the light. The jacquard construction gives the paper a textile character, subtle enough to read as a near-solid yet with enough movement to soften the plane of a wall.

Made in South Korea, it is 91 centimetres wide and sold by the roll of 3.656 metres. The surface is spongeable, making it practical for hallways and living rooms where a cloth-like texture is wanted without the commitment of upholstered walls.
