Simone Damask Grasscloth prints a damask pattern from the Schumacher archive onto space-dyed sisal, so the familiar scrollwork sits within a mélange of natural tones. The sisal ground gives the design a textile character, elegant but understated, the damask read through the grain of the grasscloth rather than on top of it.

Made in the United States, it is 89 centimetres wide with a 43-centimetre vertical repeat and a 40-centimetre horizontal repeat, sold by the metre from 3.656-metre rolls. The surface should be spot-cleaned or vacuumed with a soft brush, so it suits walls in bedrooms or sitting rooms where a damask is wanted without the formality of a woven cloth.
