Tarpan Embroidered Tape takes its cue from the sash on an antique eastern European dress, its cross-stitched flowers and animals worked in a folk-art idiom that is playful without being precious. The embroidery sits on a linen ground, the stitches legible and the motifs evenly spaced, so the tape reads as handwork rather than nostalgia.
Made in India from 100 per cent linen, it is 10 centimetres wide with a vertical repeat of 80 centimetres and a horizontal repeat of 9 centimetres. Spot cleaning is advised. It suits curtains, cushions and upholstery, applied where a folk detail is appropriate.
