Schumacher | Textured Check

Textured Check is handwoven from bands of flat and rolled paper, the rolled sections creating a translucent, tissue-like quality that contrasts with the smooth flat weave. The resulting check is tonal and tactile, a quiet geometric that reads as much through texture as through pattern. The interplay of opaque and transparent gives the surface a subtle dimensional quality in changing light.

Made in South Korea, it is 91 centimetres wide with a modest 3-centimetre vertical repeat, sold by the metre from 3.656-metre rolls. It should be cleaned by vacuuming only, using a soft brush, and is suited to walls where its handwoven character can be appreciated at close range.
