Tiraz Velvet translates the geometry of a traditional oriental rug into cut velvet, the pattern mid-scale and ordered, with the richness of pile and the clarity of a woven repeat. It has the settled, layered character of antique carpets without literal imitation.
Woven in Belgium on a traditional velvet loom from 92 per cent viscose and 4 per cent cotton, it is 136 centimetres wide with a vertical repeat of 29 centimetres and a horizontal repeat of 34. Dry cleaning is recommended. It is suited to upholstery and cushions, where the pattern and pile give weight and presence to chairs and sofas.
