Schumacher | Toile Tropique Pillow

This cushion is covered in Toile Tropique, a scenic design from Jill Lasersohn's Historical Textile Archive that takes its cue from the fine-lined botanical etchings made by artists on early nineteenth-century sea voyages. The pattern is a dense arrangement of tropical palms, drawn with the precision of scientific illustration, and it works in rooms where pattern is layered rather than sparse.

Made in France, the cushion is 51 centimetres square with a knife-edge finish, feather and down fill, and a hidden zip. Dry cleaning is recommended. It suits sofas, armchairs and beds in rooms with other prints and textures, where the toile can sit among rather than dominate.
