Tonga Tape is a wide embroidered trim in which raffia stitching and wooden beads are worked onto a linen ground, creating a richly textured band with considerable depth. Designed in collaboration with Mary McDonald, it has a striped, almost ombré quality as the beads catch and diffuse light, and at 13 centimetres wide it makes a pronounced finishing detail.
Made in India, it is composed of 55% wood beads, 35% linen and 10% raffia, with a 1-centimetre horizontal repeat. Dry cleaning is recommended. The tape suits curtains, upholstery and cushions, and is available in three colourways.
