Schumacher | Tulipano

Tulipano is a lampas-woven linen velvet inspired by a fragment of seventeenth-century silk in the Colonial Williamsburg archive, its stylised floral motif rendered in a complex jacquard construction. The cloth is stonewashed to give it a softened, antique appearance, the pile sitting gently rather than standing proud, and the hand is supple rather than stiff. The design has the formality of a damask but with more texture and a quieter lustre.

Woven in Italy from pure linen, it is 140 centimetres wide with a 15-centimetre vertical repeat and 35-centimetre horizontal repeat. Dry cleaning is recommended. It is suitable for curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery, and is available in several colourways.
