Schumacher | Under the Sea

Under the Sea is an embroidered menagerie of marine life—shells, coral, starfish—worked by hand with beads and fringed raffia details that give the design both texture and a sense of play. The embroidery is dense enough to read as pattern but light enough to keep the cloth usable, and the whimsy is deliberate without tipping into pastiche.

Made in India on a linen and cotton ground with raffia, polyester, viscose and bead embellishment, it is 137 centimetres wide with a vertical repeat of 79 centimetres and a horizontal repeat of 67 centimetres. It suits curtains, blinds, upholstery and cushions.
