Schumacher | Vally Circus

Vally Circus is a 1929 design by Vally Wieselthier, head ceramist of the Wiener Werkstätte, reissued from the archive. A large-scale geometric pattern is animated by stylised circus figures, screen-printed on a flat ground in a restrained palette that preserves the original's graphic, modernist character.

Made in the United Kingdom, it is composed of wood pulp, synthetic fibres, pigments and binders, 52 centimetres wide with a 91-centimetre vertical repeat and a 52-centimetre horizontal repeat, sold by the roll of just over five metres. The surface is spongeable and the design suits rooms where a bold, historically informed pattern is appropriate.
