Schumacher | Variable Star

Variable Star is a screen-printed patchwork of more than twenty geometric patterns arranged as a quilt, the design drawn from a 1970s archive and created to mark America's 250th anniversary. The patterns sit together in a medium-scale composition that reads as both folksy and ordered, the intricate piecework clear without being busy.

Printed in the United Kingdom on cotton, it is 137 centimetres wide with a 77-centimetre vertical repeat and a 63-centimetre horizontal repeat. Dry cleaning is recommended. The cloth suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery.
