Versailles takes a French archive document and prints it onto an off-white linen ground, the design built from ogee stripes threaded with winding botanical forms. The flowers are silhouetted rather than shaded, so the pattern holds its clarity across the cloth without becoming fussy. The vertical repeat of 52 centimetres gives the design room to develop.
Printed in the United Kingdom on a blend of 90 per cent linen and 10 per cent nylon, it is 138 centimetres wide with a horizontal repeat of 69 centimetres. Dry cleaning is recommended. It suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery.
