Schumacher | Weaved Basketry

Weaved Basketry replicates the look of handwoven raffia in a jacquard weave, the cloth capturing the irregular grain and textural depth of artisanal basketwork. Developed by fashion designer Johanna Ortiz from her connection to Colombian craft traditions, the design reads as a quiet, all-over texture with a 22-centimetre horizontal repeat that gives it a natural, unhurried rhythm.

Woven in Italy from polyamide and cotton, it is 130 centimetres wide and recommended for dry cleaning. The cloth suits cushions and upholstery, particularly stools, chairs and banquettes where its sturdy construction and textural character come into their own.
