Schumacher | Weston Raffia Weave

Weston Raffia Weave is a tightly woven raffia wallcovering dyed in neutral tones, the thick weave bringing both visual and physical texture to the wall. The natural fibre varies slightly from length to length, an inherent characteristic rather than a flaw, and this irregularity adds to the material's quiet, handmade character. It reads as fabric rather than paper, and the depth of the weave changes how light sits on the surface through the day.

Woven in South Korea, it is 91 centimetres wide and sold by the roll of 3.656 metres. Care is by vacuum with a soft brush only. It suits rooms where a calm, natural backdrop is wanted—bedrooms, studies, dressing rooms—and works particularly well in spaces with controlled lighting where the weave's texture can be appreciated.
