Aslin is a textured jacquard from the Threads Moro collection, a range of linen weaves built around the gentler colours of nature, from sea blues to deep indigo and neutral charcoal. The weave carries a small, irregular structure rather than a drawn motif, repeating every 15 by 16 centimetres, so it reads as a soft, organic texture from across a room and only shows its structure up close. Being pure linen, the hand is dry and matte.
The cloth is 100 per cent linen, 132 centimetres wide, with a 15 centimetre vertical and 16 centimetre horizontal repeat. There is no rub count published, so we treat it as a curtain and light-seating cloth rather than a cloth for a family sofa, even though the page lists it for loose and fixed upholstery too. It comes in three colourways, Ivory, Teal and Charcoal: Ivory is the pale neutral, Teal is the collection's signature blue-green, and Charcoal is the deep, organic option for a room that wants more weight.
We tend to use Aslin for full-length curtains in a living room or bedroom, and for an occasional chair or a bench cushion where use is light. It pairs well with a plain linen weave on the main sofa and a printed cushion for contrast. Sold by the half metre; order a sample to see it in your own light.
Match the 15 centimetre repeat across widths when cutting curtains, and allow a full repeat per drop so the texture lines up at the seams. Line and interline for weight and to protect the linen from strong sun, and for the occasional chair, centre the structure on the seat and back before the cutter starts; dry clean only.
