Bogo is a textured plain from the Threads Luxury Weaves II collection, a group of subtle, tactile weaves in a natural palette. The surface has a soft, slightly nubbly grain, built from viscose, linen and cotton yarns with a little acrylic for stability, so it looks like a hand-loomed natural and behaves like a modern upholstery cloth. There is no motif; the interest is in the depth of the texture and the way the viscose lends a low sheen to the folds.
The composition is 53 per cent viscose, 20 per cent linen, 16 per cent cotton and 11 per cent acrylic on a 140 centimetre width, with no pattern repeat. The page lists it for curtains and for loose and fixed upholstery; no rub count is published, so for a heavily used family sofa we would ask for a sample and test it, while chairs, headboards and ottomans are straightforward. It comes in a single colourway, Linen, a warm mid-toned natural that hides marks better than an ivory.
We tend to use Bogo on an armchair or a pair of dining chairs, on a tall headboard, and for heavy curtains in a bedroom or living room where the weight of the cloth helps the drape. It pairs well with a printed cushion from the Nala Prints or the Faraway collection, and with the Meridian Velvet on a second chair in a deeper tone. Sold by the half metre; order a sample to see it in your own light.
With no repeat, quantities are simple, but the weave has a direction and viscose blends can shade along the roll, so cut all the pieces for one item from the same bolt and keep the grain consistent across seat, back and arms. For curtains, line and interline so the cloth hangs straight rather than clinging, and allow a generous hem; dry clean only.
