Threads | Capo

Capo is a rich, multi-fibre textured weave from the Threads Luxury Weaves collection, combining linen with cotton, acrylic, bamboo and nylon into a dense, tactile plain with a fine 12 by 6 centimetre repeat worked into the structure of the weave. The linen keeps the surface dry and natural while the other fibres add resilience, so the cloth looks relaxed but performs like a more technical one, holding its shape well under daily use.

The composition is 44 per cent linen, 22 per cent cotton, 20 per cent acrylic, 8 per cent bamboo and 6 per cent nylon, on a 134 centimetre width with a 12 centimetre vertical and 6 centimetre horizontal repeat. It is rated at 40,000 rubs on the Martindale test, so it is rated for upholstery, and the page lists it for curtains and for loose and fixed upholstery. It comes in three colourways, Taupe, Indigo and Ebony: Taupe is the soft neutral, Indigo a deep, graphic blue, and Ebony the darkest, most dramatic option.

We tend to use Capo on sofas and armchairs where a plain has to carry the room, on dining chairs, and as heavy curtains where the weight of the cloth helps the drape. It pairs well with a striped weave from Great Stripes or a print from Faraway on an occasional chair. Sold by the half metre; order a sample to see it in your own light.

Match the small repeat across widths where it matters, on a seat panel or a cushion, and keep the weave direction consistent across every piece cut from the same bolt. Line and interline curtains for weight, and dry clean only; do not wash, bleach or iron it directly.
