Cirrus is a fine pure linen plain from the Threads Quintessential Naturals collection, with a barely-there 1.5 centimetre repeat that shows up as a soft, granular texture rather than a pattern. It has the dry hand and quiet irregularity of good linen, and because the repeat is so small there is nothing to match or plan around, just a cloth that reads as texture from anywhere in the room. At 147 centimetres it is also a touch wider than most of its Quintessential Naturals siblings, which helps on a generous window.
The cloth is 100 per cent linen, 147 centimetres wide, with a 1.5 centimetre horizontal repeat. The page lists it for curtains, and the collection is designed for curtains and blinds; there is no rub count, so we keep it away from seating. It comes in a single colourway, Parchment, a warm, chalky neutral that sits between cream and beige and works with almost any wall colour.
We tend to use Cirrus for full-length curtains in a bedroom or living room where the scheme is tonal, and for Roman blinds in a kitchen or study where a flat panel lets the linen's texture show. It pairs well with a heavier textured weave on the sofa and with one of the Faraway prints on a chair. Sold by the half metre; order a sample to see it in your own light.
The 1.5 centimetre repeat is small enough to ignore for quantities, but the weave has a visible grain, so keep the direction consistent across widths. Line and interline the curtains to protect the linen from sun and to give it enough weight to hang in soft folds; it is dry clean only, so allow for that when planning loose blinds.
