Crossover is a textured plain from the Threads Luxury Weaves II collection, woven from a blend of viscose, cotton, linen, polyester and acrylic that gives the cloth a fine, slightly irregular grain and a soft, dry hand. There is no motif, only the structure of the weave itself, catching light differently across a fold than a smooth cotton would. It sits at the quieter, more architectural end of the collection.
The composition is 42 per cent viscose, 24 per cent cotton, 14 per cent linen, 14 per cent polyester and 6 per cent acrylic, on a 140 centimetre width with no pattern repeat. There is no published rub count, so we treat it as a curtain and light-upholstery cloth rather than a family sofa fabric. It comes in two colourways, Linen and Sisal, both warm, textural neutrals named for natural materials, with Sisal the slightly darker and more golden of the two.
We tend to use Crossover on an occasional chair or a window seat, as heavy curtains where the weight of the cloth helps the drape, and on cushions where its texture reads well close up. Pair it with a Faraway print on a single accent piece, or with the plainer Quintessential Textures cloths on the main seating. Sold by the half metre; order a sample to see it in your own light.
With no repeat, quantities are simple, but this weave can shade slightly along the roll, so cut all the pieces for one item from the same bolt and keep the direction of the weave consistent from piece to piece. Line and interline curtains for weight, and dry clean only; do not bleach or iron the cloth directly.
