Exhale is a wide-width plain from the Threads Winch Design Indoor I Outdoor collection, woven in solution-dyed acrylic for a cloth that resists fading in strong sun without losing the soft, matte hand of a natural fibre. There is no pattern at all, just a clean, even surface, and at 290 centimetres wide it is built to be railroaded, so most windows need no joins at all and no visible seam ever breaks the drop.

The cloth is 100 per cent solution-dyed acrylic, 290 centimetres wide, with no pattern repeat. The page lists it for curtains; being solution-dyed and part of an indoor-outdoor collection, it is also suitable for a covered terrace or garden room where a natural-fibre cloth would not last. It comes in a single colourway, Cloud, a soft, pale grey that works as a neutral in almost any scheme, indoors or out.

We tend to use Exhale on a long run of glazing in a living room, where the width avoids a single seam, and as curtains on a covered terrace or garden room where sun and damp are a daily fact. Because the cloth is 290 centimetres wide it is railroaded: the width becomes the drop, so you buy the length of track times fullness rather than a number of widths, and there is no repeat at all to match at any join. The cloth can be machine washed cool on a minimum wash or dry cleaned professionally; do not tumble dry, and cool iron only if needed.
