Threads | Horizon

Horizon is a textured weave from the Threads Variation collection, a group of modern statement weaves and embroideries, blending viscose, silk, cotton and linen into a surface with a fine, structured grain rather than a printed motif. The 26 by 35 centimetre repeat is worked into the weave itself, giving the cloth a subtle, shifting texture that catches light differently depending on where you stand, closer to shot silk than to a flat plain.

The composition is 43 per cent viscose, 29 per cent silk, 21 per cent cotton and 7 per cent linen, on a 140 centimetre width with a 26 centimetre vertical and 35 centimetre horizontal repeat. There is no published rub count, so for seating we would keep this to occasional chairs rather than a family sofa, though the page also lists it for curtains and for loose and fixed upholstery. It comes in two colourways, Indigo and Graphite: Indigo is a deep, saturated blue, and Graphite a cool, dark grey.

We tend to use Horizon for full-length curtains in a living room or study, where the silk content gives the cloth a low, changeable sheen, and on a pair of occasional chairs or a headboard. It pairs well with a plain linen weave or a quieter weave elsewhere in the room, so Horizon stays the focal point. Sold by the half metre; order a sample to see it in your own light.

Match the repeat across widths and keep the direction of the weave consistent on every piece cut from the same bolt. Line and interline curtains for weight, since the silk content fades in direct sun, and dry clean only; do not wash, bleach or iron it directly.
