Renzo is a geometric panel design from the Threads Vinyl Wallpaper collection, its name borrowed from the architect known for glass-and-steel facades built up from repeating modular units. Rectangular panels are arranged edge to edge in a half-drop layout, each one given a faint textured surface, so the wall reads as a considered, modern facade rather than a busy print.
The paper is a vinyl on a paper backing, 52 centimetres wide, with a 64 centimetre vertical repeat and a 52 centimetre horizontal repeat in a half-drop match, hung paste-the-wall. Being vinyl, it is spongeable and hard-wearing, so it copes well in a hallway, cloakroom or bathroom as well as a living room. It comes in five colourways, Ivory, Parchment, Indigo, Bronze and Pebble: Ivory and Parchment are the two pale, whole-room options, Indigo is the graphic choice, and Bronze and Pebble bring in warmth and depth.
We tend to use Renzo on the long wall of a study or a modern hallway, in a cloakroom where the panelled geometry rewards a closer look, and behind a bed in a guest room. It pairs well with plain linen curtains and a textured weave on the seating, so the wall carries the only pattern in the room. Sold by the roll; order a sample before committing to a full room.
The half-drop match with a 64 centimetre repeat is what governs quantities: allow a full repeat of waste on every drop, and check the roll length printed on the batch label before working out how many rolls the wall needs. Paste the wall with a heavy-duty adhesive, hang from a plumb line at the centre of the main wall, and keep every roll on one wall from the same batch so the panels align correctly.
