Ridge is a textured plain from the Threads Quintessential Naturals collection, a range of easy, unfussy weaves made for curtains and blinds. A fine, linear structure runs through the cloth, giving it a subtle ribbed quality that catches light in narrow bands rather than all at once, so it reads as texture rather than stripe from any distance. The polyester in the blend gives it a slightly crisper hand than a pure linen, useful where curtains need to hold their fold.
The cloth is 47 per cent linen, 36 per cent cotton and 17 per cent polyester, 145 centimetres wide, with no pattern repeat to plan around. The page lists it for curtains, and the collection is designed for curtains and blinds; there is no rub count published, so we keep it to windows rather than seats. It comes in a single colourway, Ivory, a clean, warm white with just enough depth to avoid looking clinical.
We tend to use Ridge for full-length curtains in a living room or study, where the subtle rib gives a plain scheme some quiet structure, and for Roman blinds where the linear texture reads well on a flat panel. It pairs well with a printed cushion from one of the Nala collections or a heavier textured weave on the sofa. Sold by the half metre; order a sample to see it in your own light.
There is no repeat to match, but keep the direction of the rib consistent across every width and cut the drops for one window from the same bolt to avoid any variation in tone. The polyester content makes the cloth a little more forgiving to line and press than a pure linen, but it should still be dry cleaned rather than washed, and hemmed generously to let it hang straight.
