Threads | Zamora

Zamora is a printed geometric from the Threads Odyssey collection, a group of cool, modern statement designs. The motif is graphic and mid-scale, with a 39 by 33 centimetre repeat that reads as an all-over pattern on a curtain and as a clear composition on a cushion, and it is printed in a bronze tone on a linen and cotton ground, so the design has warmth and a faint sheen against the matte cloth. It sits between a texture and a pattern, which is why it works so well as the one print in a room of plains.

The cloth is 70 per cent cotton and 30 per cent linen, 137 centimetres wide, with a 39 centimetre vertical repeat and a 33 centimetre horizontal repeat. The page lists it for curtains; there is no rub count, so we use it for curtains, blinds and cushions rather than seating. It comes in a single colourway, Bronze, a warm metallic brown on a natural ground that reads as a deep neutral in daylight and richer under lamplight.

We tend to use Zamora for curtains in a dining room or study, where the geometry echoes joinery and lighting, for Roman blinds in a hallway or dressing room, and for cushions against a plain velvet or linen sofa in a darker tone. It pairs well with the Meridian Velvet in Bronze or Slate and with a textured weave in a warm neutral. Sold by the half metre; order a sample to see it in your own light.

Allow one 39 centimetre repeat per drop and match the design across widths; the repeat is modest, so waste is small. Line and interline curtains so the printed surface hangs flat and the pattern reads cleanly in the folds, centre a full motif on cushions and keep the direction consistent across a set; dry clean only, and keep the print out of direct sun where you can.
